Hail Halle
It's official - Halle Berry, is taking over from Madonna as the new face of Versace, with ads for the brand's spring/summer 2006 range landing on our shores next month. Was it the body that just won't quit that landed her the gig? Cheekbones that you could scale like Mount Rushmore? Nup. It was her - who knew? - work ethic. "I have known Halle for many years and have always admired her determination and professionalism," says Donatella Versace. "She only had one day off [from filming X-Men 3] in which to complete [the shoot], she worked tirelessly from 5am to 1am the following morning - 20 hours straight - without batting an eyelid." Berry may have been motivated by a hefty pay packet; no word on what it was, but former campaign face Madonna was reportedly paid $US20 million ($26.6 million) for her stint.
