Clueless Closet

Remember that awesome scene in 'Clueless' were Cher is choosing her outfit, and shes flipping through her closet on her computer and it has all of her accessories grouped in to catagories and then into styles.
Incase you dont know what I'm talking about, watch this: Cher's Closet.

I dont know about you guys but I love that movie, and I've always been jealous of her closet.
But now, In this era of technology and computers and iPhones we can have Cher's Closet.
...well not the clothes but the technology.
And heres the best part: You can have it on your computer & your iPhone.

YOU CAN TAKE YOUR CLOSET WITH YOU!!!!

So heres how you do it-
or
search for trimirror in the app store (also available for android phones)

You can create a profile on your phone or your computer it literally takes 2seconds.
Fill in the details- your style inspirations, favorite brands & stores.

After that you have to find an hour (depending on how big your closet is)
to take photos of everything in you wardrobe.
It's not absolutly necessary to photograph everything but if you want to use the app like cher does then yes take photos of you clothes.

heres some tips:
  • Take Photos of items individually.
  • use a plain black or white background.
Heres the other awesome thing about the trimirror app:

So you get all dressed up, just about to leave but your not to sure about your shoes.
you have 10 mins to decide if they work with your look, and your bestfriend cant recieve photos on her phone.
So heres what you do, you take a photo of your outfit and your shoes on your phone, you then post it to trimirror-

Select fashion,Click the snap and share camaraYou type your question into the box, click S.O.S (Basically means you need an answer asap) then post.
People will post back with their oppinions and look through your closet and suggest other items.

Theres also the classic "facebook" type component where you set a profile photo and add friends.
in which case add me!
 @naoise.

This app is Amazing, I use it every day, even if im not going anywhere just so cause its heaps of fun & its FREE! (got to love the free stuff)

Trust me fashion lovers, get this app!!!!!!!

Style Crush: Dianna Agron.

I am a massive Glee fan.
The music, The drama, the costumes. It's Just awesome.
But the fashion is fantastic and Dianna Agron, carries that fashion through to her everyday life,
and I have to admitt I cant help but lust over her wardrobe.

I love her relaxed style!
Agron is a Layer-ing queen:never settling for one piece & mixing style trends with ease,
to create a style of her own that screams natural fashionista.
. Beacause of Dianna's easy attitude to structured fashion and mixing style trends its really easy to copy, and make your own.
The key to stealing this song birds style is statement pieces, paired with your regular basics, neutral colour palettes with the occasional bright for fun.
And simple accessories to let the clothes do all the talking

Everything you EVER needed to know about your Bra

Is the back strap of your bra riding in-between your Shoulder blades?
Your straps so tight they are digging into your shoulders, or are they so loose their falling off?
The Wire digging into your arm pits?
Do you have to constantly adjust your cups & straps?

Bra's are one of the most important things, yet it's also the most looked over when it comes to the Details of fashion.
Not only Is it important to be wearing the right bra with the right outfit, but its also really important for your health. The wrong bra can create problems with breathing, your posture and soreness to your back and shoulders.

The wrong "support", wont support and the wrong fit can make you look out of proportion.
Below is absolutely everything you need to know about finding the right bra!

Sizing:
Online shopping is fast becoming the easiest way to access shops that we unfortunately don't have here.
When it comes to Bra shopping online, the numbers and letters are all different and most sites don't "translate", Always check the Sizing chart before you order.
The correct Size means the correct bra for your body,
get the size wrong and you wont be comfortable at all!
I made a sizing chart for you:: :D
{This chart is not linked, feel free to save it to your computer.}

Fitting:

This is the most important Part!!!!!
If you don't feel comfortable having a random at Bra's & Things or Myer Touch your boobs, This is wear the best friend or the boyfriend comes in handy. But if you do it at home. Measure twice, Cut once...or something like that...

{Step One} Measurement (A:
Keeping the measuring tape parallel with the ground, measure around your bra directly under your bust ( Underneath the wire) after expelling all air from your lungs - You want this measurement to be as small as possible. If you wind up with a faction, Round it to the nearest whole number.

{Step One} Measurement (B:
Standing straight, with your arms at your side, measure at the fullest part of your bust (Lay the measurement tape onto your nipples, while wearing a non-padded bra {You don't want to add any mm, cm etc}) making sure the measuring tape is parallel with the ground
Round all fractional measurements to the nearest whole number.

Then Subtract your band measurement (A) from your cup measurement (B).
Generally, for each inch in difference, the cup goes up by one size.

Example:
Step 1: 34" under measurement +4" = 38" band
Step 2: 40" over measurement
Step 3: 40" - 38" = 2" or Cup "B"
Your size would be 38B

If The Difference Is: Your Standard Cup Size Is:
0"-1/2" (1.3 cm) AA
1/2"- 1" (2.6 cm) A
2" (5.1 cm) B
3" (7.6 cm) C
4" (10.2 cm) D
5" (12.7 cm)  DD * or E *
6" (15.2 cm) DDD * or F *
7" (17.8 cm) G *
8" (20.3 cm) H *
9" (22.9 cm) I *
10" (25.4 cm) J *

Yes, it's tricky!

Yes, It needs to be done.
As previously stated, If you cant be bothered, Bra's & Things, Myer, David Jones, Lesenza & most good Under wear stores train their customer service personal to do this fast & without fuss.

The Bra Wardrobe:

The T-Shirt Bra-
Pretty self explanatory, Here's a basic rule; If it has lace on it and your literally wearing it underneath a T-shirt (or T-shirt material) DON'T!
The idea of a T-shirt bra is that it undetectable beneath a T-shirt, Usually it will state this on the label but generally the best T-shirt bra's are the plain cotton ones, like the one shown.

The "Everyday" Bra-
Personally I'm not the type to walk around my house with out a bra, The only time I don't wear one is in the bed and in the shower, but if I'm staying home, cleaning, doing nothing ( and i wont be seeing another soul) Then my "everyday" bra it is! This generally doesn't need to look like anything. Just as long as it gives you the support you need.

The Sports bra-
This is an important one to have,as well as the usual support and fit requirements, that every bra should meet: The correct Sports bra is even more important!
Whatever your exercise or workout routine entails you need to be properly supported. Especially if your bigger breasted. Running for 40mins will feel like 2 hours if your constantly adjusting your Bra and its not supporting you like it should. There are sport bra's that cater for your body in specific area's depending on the activity your doing so defiantly check them out!

The Convertible Bra-
Every single girl on this planet needs a convertible bra; no matter what size you are!
there is nothing worst then seeing a girl wearing an amazing strapless dress, but no bra which intern means that unless their super human, at some point in the night you will be able to see her nipples. *Shakes head*
the easiest way to avoid this is with a fantastic Convertible bra.
Why is a convertible bra better then a strapless?
That's easy, convenience and value for money! it's like 6 bras in one!!!!
The Big important thing to remember with a convertible bra is that it needs to support you with straps AND without!

The "Sex" Bra-
Pretty right?
Here's the basic rundown on bras like this:
Wearing them under a T-shirt = No.
These Bra's Have one main purpose: To look sexy. You can figure the rest out I'm sure ;)
In saying that, Yes it should still support you.

Lingerie Care:

Travel-

Introducing the Brag-The bra bag.....(get it? hehe)
This adorable little look-a-like is a padded travel case for you padded bra, Keeping it in shape and minus the wrinkles. They also come in a bigger size's-"Buxom" for bra's sized D & up.
I don't know why it has  handle but, its cute, so who cares, if you have a matching set they have a matching bottom case for your delicate pants too!
Want one?:: http://www.thebragcompany.com/

Washing-
Avoid washing your bras in a washing machine, especially top load washing machines. If it's possible, hand wash your lingerie in cold water or have it dry cleaned,I know it's a pain but your lingerie will have a longer and happier life.
For washing you should use a delicate soda-based fabric wash, You can also use mild shampoo or hand soap, But buying a lingerie specific detergent is recommended.
Most importantly get a wash bag for your intimate apparel, these are available from pretty much everywhere that sells a bra. Wash bags cost only about $5-$10 depending on the quality they are great for keeping your lingerie's delicate fabric from getting ruined.

Drying-
Tumble Drying your Bra's is not a good idea.
Neither your Bra, your other clothes or your Dryer will Thank you.
The heat & tumbling can damage the bra fabric, under wire and cups padding, it can also damage your other clothes and the dryer itself if the wires come loose from the bra fabric.Tumble drying can also cause your bra's to loose their shape early.
Natural Hang drying is definitely the best way to dry your lingerie, Take a page out of Carrie's book and hang them over your shower rod.
If your like me and you forget that your favorite strapless bra is dirty 2hours before you need to leave for that important night out, Your trusty blow dryer is your best friend. ( just be sure to hold the nozzle of the Dryer 5-10cm away from the fabric to avoid burning)

 Storage-
  • Hang them in the closet on a hanger. This keeps the cup's rounded, and doesn’t allow for any messy pile up situations in the drawer.
  • Put them in your drawer. Do the hooks up in the back and fold them neatly. Putting them in color coordinated rows also helps when you are in a rush and have to find the perfect match for your outrple; text-align: left;"> Stann style="color: purple;">The “Sunny Side Up” method. Stack your bras "good side up", one on top of the other this makes sure that the cups keep their round shape.DON'T INVERT THE CUPS:This creates little tiny wrinkles in the padding and the material which will eventually show through the bra fabric and then your shirt.
What your Bra should 'NOT' do:

What's wrong with these Photos?

The Black bra:
Don't her boob's look miserable?
She's sagging for 3 reasons.
  1. She hasn't been fitted.
  2. The width (or b measurement) area is either too loose or too tight and the back strap is riding up her back, and sitting between her shoulder blades, which then puts all the weight on the material in the cups- which intern stretches the straps and the cup material.
  3. She has no support in a pad-less bra
The White bra:
Pain, Oh the pain!
  1.  10000% Too tight! The Straps are digging into her shoulders and the under-wire is digging into her armpits, OUCH!
  2. Introducing the Woman with 6 boobs!!! The cup size of this bra is way to small, her breasts are spilling out over the top and are trapped underneath the under wire. Oh i seriously feel bad for this model :(
Britney:
Oops she did it again!
( I'm so sorry but i just couldn't help it!)
  1. Poor Britney,Shes is not wearing the right cup size, which is giving her 4 boobs.
  2. Shes wearing Lace underneath a T-Shirt. See what I mean. T-shirt = T-shirt bra.
'Back' bra:
  1. Her width (or b measurement) Is too tight! Which is giving here underarm boobs.and shoulder boobs.
  2. her straps are too tight, and digging into her shoulders.
  3.
The wrong "support", wont support and the wrong fit can make you look out of proportion.
Getting fitted and wearing the right bra for your body type, is extremely important to your health.
Please Get FITTED, and continue to get fitted every year!!!

2012 Golden Globes:

I'm a complete sucker for award shows and the punishment it brings, Yes I fall asleep during the actual show but the red carpet watch before hand is my favorite!
This year was nothing compared to the Dazzle and jealousy of 2011, but it did manage to make me want to be famous.
Here's my best dresses of GG2012::

Jessica Alba:
This Gorgeous Gucci Dress, is Perfect for Alba's honey complexion (no pun intended). The cut flatters Jessica's, curves and the trail takes the attention away from the busy beaded patten, as well as adding a touch of Glamor, especially when teamed with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Bulgari jewels, and a Roger Vivier bag.

Natalie Portman:
 Yes, Yes...1000x YES!
I love everything about this stunning Lavin Dress, The contrast between the Rose red & hot pink is just Amazing! The contrast shown also in the Tiffany & Co clutch was perfect!
Portman's natural makeup and soft hair do, kept attention on the dress, but still complimented it perfectly!

Sarah Michelle Gellar:
I cant put my finger on what exactly I adore about this dress, I think it might be the classic Vivienne Westwood-esqe Cut, or the material, but whatever it is this Monique Lhuillier gown is to die for. Gellar Kept it simple and paired the dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and Bulgari jewels.

Kate Beckinsale:
This is my number one favorite from this year! last year it was Olivia Wilde's gradient Marchesa But this year its Kate's Stunningly simple Roberto Cavalli fishtail dress!
I adore the structured bodice, the beading, and the chiffon detail, It all works together perfectly and shows off Beckinsale's enviable shiloette!

Who was your favorite this year?

Style Crush: Selena Gomez.

By now you know of my Disney channel obsession.
'Wizards of Waverly Place' is one of my favorites.
(yes im aware of my age)
From her show, to her movies, to her Music I have to admit that I love Selena Gomez.
I also love her as a style icon.

Though her style as grown with her in years in the spotlight shes always kept her laid back yet still well put together twist on current fashion.
Selena's wardrobe is filled with casual comfort pieces, Jeans and plain tops play an important part in her day-to-day looks.

Want Selena's 'everyday girl' look?
The key here is K.I.S.S:
Keep It Simple Stupid.
Simple cuts, basic colors and shades. Minimal jewelry.
Comfy style.

All I want for Christmas

all i want for Christmas.

Tory Berch Sunglasses: These Sunglasses are so beautiful. Classic & timeless design.

Michael Kors watch: These watches are so elegant. Bit *cough* pricey but so beautiful!
kiki k diary: I'm a massive fan of stationary. that big shop you do at the start of the new school year was like christmas for me. I firmly believe that if you have stationary that makes you happy your study/ work will benifit from it. Check out kiki k for some very cute study aids.

wii fit plus/ wii Zumba: I tried the whole gym thing and though it kinda worked i wasn't 100% comfortable sweating and looking so revolting in front of everyone.  So at home it is :)

Lady GaGa: the monster ball tour: I've been converted to GaGaism...

7th Heaven DVD box set: I loved this TV show when it was originally on, and now its on the tv again its making me extremely nostalgic and i need to add it to my collection :)

Pandora charm braclet: I've always wanted one of these but now i really want one cause i want the cow charm lol

Tiffany & co tag necklace: i just love Tiffany & co, i mean who doesn't?

Bath Tub caddy & Candelabra: I love a nice hot relaxing bath, and i love the idea of having a caddy to hold your drink, good book or magazine. I think candelabras are so romantic and elegant, just something to add a little romance and luxary to my bathroom.

Make-up travel case: I dont remember how, or when but somehow i have accumulated a mountian of make up products, brushes etc and they are currently thrown ( and not organised :s)  between 3 cosmetic bags, 4 drawers in my bathroom , one draw in my bedroom and whatever handbag im currently using.
Its annoying and depressing and i need it fixed!

What do you want for Christmas?
Leave a comment below with your list :)

Vintage Fashion Dress

Maybe it's a sign of the times. In April this year, Leonard Joel auctions in Melbourne staged its first sale of pre-owned designer clothing, accessories and furs and were amazed to find bidders queued up outside the auction rooms in South Yarra.
There was little publicity. Word of mouth was enough to be a focus for a large, eager crowd.
More than 95 per cent of items sold at above estimate, some way above.
The second auction in this sequence was held on June 19 and was equally successful. Consignments for the third, in August, are already being taken.
The method is simple. They sell reasonable luxury items from the 1950s to the present, mostly by top designer. At last month's auction there were 540 lots, ranging from Louis Vuitton luggage, a handbag by Paloma Picasso, a pair of Cartier sunglasses and an umbrella by Ungaro. Some noughties items were included, such as a 2005 Moschino suit and a 2008 jacket by Dolce & Gabbana. These are considered deeply retro now. Prices ranged from $50 to about $10,000. Several Sydney collectors flew to Melbourne to attend the auction, others bid online. But being there is preferred, as these are part auction, part social event.
This column's Melbourne spy was there and report an eclectic crowd.
''[There were] stylish ladies drenched in jewels, strangely styled young men wearing high heels (yes, you read correctly) and fur, a few dressed for comfort in tracksuit pants and runners, lots of fabulous handbags and a mix of equally fabulous reading glasses,'' our source says.
It was a well-educated crowd. They had deliberated the form guide and knew exactly what they wanted. Most bidders had lot numbers circle and prices underlined.
Handbags proved to be the favourite category, with a Bulgari bag selling for $750, well above its $200 to $300 estimates. A Hermes Birkin bag, estimated at $8000-plus, sold for $10,000 after attracting bids from all over the room.

{TSL}'s Halloween Closet::FAIRY PRINCESS

It's that time of year again, where It's socially acceptable to dress like a freak, a monster, or for girls (as famously said by LiLo in 'Mean Girls'- ) a slut, and no one can say anything about it!

But did you know that your Halloween costume could already be in your closet?...

(or more accessible then hiring or buying a costume.)

So what are you going as for Halloween?...
Pretty as a fairy princess!
See this one is just plain cute!
Remember when you were 12years old and wearing glitter was not social suicide?
Lets rewind, & go back to making our child hood dreams (or mine anyway) of becoming a fairy reality...at least for one night. ;p
This costume is the perfect opportunity to::
1) whip out that frilly, sparkly, shiny, dress you brought cause you absolutely couldn't resist it but would never ever wear it cause your not 13...or barbie..or snooki.
2) Dig up your year 10 or 12 formal dress, cause lets be real 99.9% of the reason you got that dress was cause you wanted to have the best dress of the night & if you went to a school like mine, that meant shiny, glittery, glitzy girlishness!
It can be long or short just as long as it sparkles... Actually...
think of the wedding dresses from "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding!"...Okay, maybe that's a little too far....:/
While your thinking of glitter..Remember the spray on glitter that smelt like Bananas and your mother/dance teacher insisted upon spraying you periodically with it 1hour before you went on stage to "make you shine"?...
So we're half way to Mirror ball & we want to be fairies so why not a little further?...
Metallic eye shadows & long lashes help with the girly over load...and light on the eyeliner!
( check out these for a fairy mask of make up)
For your hair Curling & crimping help to create a Fantasy, aesthetic.
Add Some bling & of course your princess crown and VOILA!
fairy princess
Have fun your Majesty
{MORE, Halloween costume ideas coming soon!)xx
